While you could (and should) go for a walk down the iconic Champs-รlysรฉes, we recommend doing most of your shopping elsewhere since it can get rather crowded and touristy. For fashion, you can stroll the elegant boulevard of Avenue Montaigne or explore the bohemian charm of Le Marais. For unique and authentic souvenirs, you can browse the timeless stores in Saint-Germain-des-Prรฉs or catch the famous brocantes and antiquaires throughout the city.
Every neighborhood offers its own style and specialties waiting to be discovered. Read on for our guide to navigating Parisโs most iconic shopping districts with recommendations to some of our favorite shops (plus, some insider information about our antique shopping tour in 2025!).
Le Marais
Le Marais is a treasure trove of eclectic boutiques, contemporary French brands, and charming vintage stores. Its narrow cobblestone streets make it one of the most picturesque areas to shop in Paris.
- Galleries around Place des Vosges: This historic square is home to art galleries featuring modern and classic works. Perfect for finding a unique piece to bring home.
- Merci: One of Parisโs most beloved concept stores, Merci offers everything from eco-friendly fashion to chic home goods, all wrapped up in a creative and inspiring setting.
- Vintage Stores: Check out Kilo Shop, FreeโpโStar, and Vintage Dรฉsir for racks of affordable vintage finds or explore Thanx God Iโm a V.I.P. for high-end pre-loved fashion.
- Artisanal Boutiques: Wander through the quieter streets for artisan jewelry, handcrafted leather goods, and Parisian souvenirs you wonโt find anywhere else.
- Contemporary French Brands: Keep an eye out for stylish local labels like Sรฉzane, The Kooples, and Sandro, which combine classic Parisian flair with modern design.

Saint-Germain-des-Prรฉs
Saint-Germain-des-Prรฉs is the epitome of Parisian elegance. Known for its intellectual and artistic history, the neighborhood is packed with stylish boutiques, iconic department stores, and unique shops.
- Le Bon Marchรฉ & La Grande รpicerie: A one-stop shop for luxury fashion, design, and gourmet food. After shopping, donโt miss the gourmet market for artisanal cheeses, wines, and sweet treats.
- Shops on Rue du Bac: This street is dotted with charming boutiques, including niche perfumeries and fine homeware stores.
- Deyrolle: A legendary cabinet of curiosities offering taxidermy, botanical prints, and other naturalist wonders.

Opรฉra District
The Opรฉra district is where Parisian shopping becomes a spectacle. With its grand architecture and luxurious department stores, itโs a feast for the eyes as much as the shopping bags.
- Galeries Lafayette: A shopping cathedral with a stunning Art Nouveau dome. Find everything from designer labels to French beauty brands, and donโt miss the rooftop terrace for panoramic views of Paris.
- Printemps Haussmann: Another department store icon, offering an expansive selection of international brands and a dedicated homeware section.
- Galerie Vivienne: One of Parisโs most beautiful covered passages, this 19th-century arcade is lined with unique boutiques, antique bookstores, and charming cafรฉs.
Insider Tip: Both Galeries Lafayette and Printemps host major seasonal sales twice a year, making this district ideal for savvy shoppers. Learn more about the bi-annual โsoldesโ here.
Avenue Montaigne
Avenue Montaigne is the crown jewel of Parisian luxury, home to the flagship stores of the worldโs most iconic fashion houses.
- Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chloรฉ, and more: These legendary maisons are a must-visit for high-end fashion lovers. Even if youโre not shopping, the window displays alone are worth a stroll.
We recommend visiting early in the day to avoid the crowds and soak in the serene elegance of this prestigious avenue located just down the street from the chaotic Champs-รlysรฉes.
Antiquing in Paris
For antique enthusiasts, Paris is a dream come true. The cityโs markets and fairs are brimming with history, offering everything from vintage furniture to rare books and collectibles.
- Marchรฉ aux Puces de Saint-Ouen: As the largest flea market in the world, Saint-Ouen is a labyrinth of antique dealers, vintage stalls, and quirky curios.
- Marchรฉ aux puces de la porte de Vanves: A lovely weekend brocante located in the 14th arrondissement that makes for a fun weekend activity with the family.
- Le Village Suisse: Located near the Eiffel Tower, this antique hub specializes in art deco furniture, jewelry, and fine art.
- Les Bouquinistes along the Seine: These riverside stalls are iconic in their own right, selling rare books, vintage prints, and postcards that make for perfect souvenirs.
