Our Ultimate Paris Guide

It’s hard to keep up with all the new places to eat and drink in Paris. Which is why have a list of favorites: time-honored classics where you know you’ll always get a smile along with a delicious meal or cocktail. Take your pick from our tried and tested Restaurants (divided into Fancy, Trendy and Traditional), Bars (Cocktail and Wine), Coffee Shops, and Bakeries and Boulangeries.

Once your tummy is sufficiently full, you’ll want to digest. Check out our top things to see and do, when it’s fine out or rain strikes (however, our Portfolio will prove that Paris is just as wonderful in the rain). Then, because it’s not a trip to Paris without a suitcase filled with souvenirs, bookmark our favorite shops on your Google Maps and shop ’til you drop. The Parisian Bastide

There are a few houses in Paris that defy imagination. . . and we were lucky enough to see inside one. Set in the heart of the Champ-de-Mars, this former embassy has been converted into a cozy haven dedicated to relaxed living.

From its vast open kitchen, with its (English) range stove and (French) copper pans; to the spacious bedrooms, filled with plush neutral furnishings; and the pièce de la résistance, the rooftop terrace. Paris, sous la pluie !

Our latest Portfolio shows Paris in another natural element: the rain. Nathalie Geffroy a.k.a Nath Paris, is a French photographer especially known for her street photography snaps. We love the way she captures the city during and after a downpour. And, as the feature goes to show, you’ll never stop a true Parisian from going about their business with a spot of rain.

The Doors of Paris

Georgianna Lane and David C Phillips, the pair behind A Parisian Moment, travel through the City of Light capturing everything from architecture to flowers and historic buildings. We love their vision of simple beauty, case in point the Doors of Paris series.

Patisserie class from the World’s Best Pâtissier

Cédric Grolet’s star is on a meteoric rise. Named World’s Best Pâtissier thanks to his beautiful and intricate creations at Le Meurice, he opened his boulangerie, Cédric Grolet Opéra, at the end of 2019. Queues formed down the Avenue de l’Opéra, hungry to taste a bit of his magic.

We featured three of his most coveted recipes from his new book of the same name: croissants, puff pastry flans, and the decadent Saint-Honoré.

    I would like to know, if you had only one month to spend in France, where would you go, what would you not want to miss seeing, where would you stay, and where would you eat? Paris not included. Is there a best time to visit that is not summer, (prefer cooler temps, not hot). Can you travel through France by train with a small dog?
