Welcome to the September/October 2025 Issue!
There’s something comforting about the return of fall after the high notes of summer. The season’s quieter rhythm encourages us to reconnect with the familiar and take stock before diving into the rush of year-end holidays and gatherings with friends and family.
We’re very excited to share our September/October issue and introduce you to some of our newest French finds. Here’s a look at what “la rentrée” in France is bringing us at My French Country Home Magazine…
The Harvest Season
Join us on a visit to the olive groves of Provence, where photographer Joanna Maclennan’s images bring to life the annual harvest of this quintessentially Mediterranean fruit. Meanwhile, our regular recipe contributor, Franck Schmitt, marks the October saffron harvest with inventive dishes featuring this coveted spice.
Exquisite and Colorful Interiors
Come along as we tour the magical Château de Thouron in the Limousin, lovingly resurrected by the dynamic duo behind DS Interiors, a Paris-based firm specialized in 17th and 18th century renovations. Down in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Sophie Douzal, founder of Le Château de Ma Mère textile brand, invites us inside the cozy haven she dreamed of and brought to life. Finally, a couple in Nantes shares their transformation of a 1970s-era home into an airy cocoon for their young family.
The Gardens’ Final Hurrah
Fall is when our gardens sing their season finale, serving up a last flush of color before winter. Cordelia de Castellane invites us for a glimpse of her private haven in Picardy while giving an update on her latest venture: a florist-café in Paris. We also pay a visit to Château de La Bussière, in the Loire Valley, whose glorious kitchen garden is considered a French historic monument.

Portfolio: Olive Season
A crisp autumn breeze ruffles the sage‑green leaves of olive trees heavy with fruit. Music drifts through the air as the sun rises over the Alpilles mountains, and harvesters are already hard at work. It’s a bright, chilly morning in Mouriès, where William Révoil moves steadily through the rows, shaking branches with mechanical forks to release olives into nets spread across the ground. Join us for the harvest this year through Joanna Maclennan’s moving photographs of the manual process.
Discovery Guide: Collioure – A Painter’s Paradise
Tucked into France’s rugged southern Mediterranean coast, Collioure enchants with its turquoise bay, pastel‑hued houses and Catalan flair. Once a muse for Fauvist painters, this sunlit village near the Spanish border is also a gateway to spectacular natural beauty — a living canvas where mountains, vineyards and azure waters meet in vivid harmony. Discover this painter’s paradise with us in our Regional Discovery Guide.
Garden: Floral Frenzy
As Artistic Director of Dior Maison and head of her own interior architecture studio, Cordelia de Castellane shares her boundless love of flowers — whether in her interiors, her garden in Picardy or her newest venture:a café flower shop on the Rue du Bac in Paris. Take a stroll with us through Cordelia’s home garden in full end-of-summer bloom.
Recipes: At Home in Provence with Jeany Cronk
