Welcome to the January/February 2026 Issue — featuring a brand new look!

As another new year unfolds, the first days of the month are bright with promise with an energy that invites reflection and renewal. It feels only fitting, then, to inaugurate 2026 with our own fresh start.

You may have noticed that we recently updated our website design, and we are delighted to unveil a crisp new look of the magazine too — it’s a redesign reflects both where we’ve come from and where we’re going.

What’s New in the Magazine

Among the changes to the layout, there are two new features especially close to our hearts. The first is a regular spotlight on a contemporary French female artiste whose work moves and inspires us. Our first subject is Valérie de Sarrieu, a landscape painter from Toulouse.

The second is an exclusive address book, Where We’d Go, where we share a select few of our favorite hotels, restaurants and experiences around France – hidden gardens, boutiques, galleries, food shops and more – that capture the spirit of discovery behind MFCH. Think of it as a gentle invitation to wander and be surprised. First stop: Annecy, at the foot of the Alps.

Fresh Interiors and Gardens

True to our essence, we balance renewal and continuity – pairing fresh ideas with timeless taste. This issue features three stunning interiors that embody that harmony: a chic mountain chalet with breathtaking Savoie views, a revitalized Haussmannian family home near the Bois de Vincennes and a 16th century village house in the Lot-et-Garonne.

We also visit the private garden of horticultural historian Patricia Bouchenot-Dechin in the Perche, as well as Jardin Étang de Launay, a “Jardin Remarquable” blanketed in frost.

New Discoveries Around France

We then sweep you to France’s eastern border, bypassing the bustle of Strasbourg for the quiet heart of Alsace: Colmar and the storybook villages along the famous Route des Vins.

We also introduce Coco & Co, a beloved antiques shop in Honfleur, and Maison Fabre, an artisan glover that has adorned the hands of royals, film stars and style mavens for more than a century.

Read on for a closer look at a few more of this issue’s inspiring features in the new My French Country Home Magazine!

Portfolio: Alpine Allure

There’s something spectacular about the way the sun bleaches the snow-covered landscape of the French Alps in winter, casting it in stark contrast against the deep azure sky. Capturing this magnificent scenery in all its glory is no small feat — a task reserved for an artist’s eye. A native of the mountainous Jura region, Stéphane Godin grew up surrounded by snowy peaks, vast forests and rolling valleys. He began painting at a young age, drawn to the purity of the snow-capped summits and wide-open spaces, which he describes as “pure and immaculate.” Discover his stunning photos in our Portfolio feature!

Artisan: Maison Fabre

Founded a century ago, Maison Fabre is one of France’s most storied glove brands. Its finely crafted designs have graced the hands of royals, film stars and fashionistas, securing its reputation for enduring style and elegance. Olivier Fabre, now the chief executive of the company, is a man on a mission — determined both to expand this century-old enterprise and to preserve and promote a disappearing craft across France and beyond. Learn more about their story in our Artisan feature.

Interior: Mountain Mode

Cradled by the serene beauty of the Savoie region, one family’s vision and deep connection to the mountains has created a year-round haven — a warm and inviting chalet where natural wood and soft tones echo the alpine surroundings. Crest-Voland, a beloved spot in Savoie, has long been a getaway for Joanna Pietri, an interior decorator, whose family has a rich history in the area. Check out her vision for the chalet come to life in this interior feature.

Recipes: Date Night

Photographer and recipe developer Chloé Crane-Leroux and her mother Trudy Crane, a ceramicist and model, form a creative duo united by food and storytelling. The kitchen is their sanctuary – where laughter, relaxation and the quiet satisfaction of shared creation come naturally. In their new vegan cookbook, The Artful Way to Plant-Based Cooking, Trudy reflects on the “date nights” she and Chloé treasure – moments to unplug and reconnect amid their busy lives. Whip up some of their delicious creations featured in our Recipes column.
