Thanksgiving has rolled around so quickly! Before the holiday season runs away with us, it’s the perfect moment to take stock and reflect on what we’re grateful for. It’s been a busy year for the whole My French Country Home team and an exciting first year for the magazine. Read on to learn what we’re thankful for this Thanksgiving.
“I am thankful for a loving family, and good friends.ย ย I am thankful to be living in a country that is safe and where we are free to express ourselves as we wish.ย ย I am thankful for the beauty around me in nature at this time of year, and I am thankful for all that I have been able to accomplish here at MFCH.ย Thankful for the opportunities to share my love of France, surrounded by a great team and truly amazing readers and clients.”
“I’m not American, but can fully get behind the spirit of thankfulness and pie! This year, I’m thankful for new challenges and opportunities presented; my friendships, old ones strengthened and new ones made; and last but not least, a delayed (if not canceled) Brexit!”

“This year, I’m thankful for the lessons and growth that have come over the past 11 months. I’m thankful for all the time I’ve been able to spendย with friends and loved ones over the last year. It’s the first year since I moved to Paris that I’ll see my mom three times and my brother twice in one calendar year! I’m thankful to live somewhere that feels like home, for work that I enjoy doing, and people I enjoy working with. Looking forward to all that the next year brings, and while it may not be a traditional American Thanksgiving for me over here this year, I’m thankful for the promise of pumpkin pie sometime over the next few days!”
“I’m thankful for the love and support of my friends and family for the adventures I have in my life. I’m also thankful for new starts and opportunities, that we are never ‘stuck’ so to say but can always reinvent ourselves or begin something new that is important to us. I’m thankful for new discoveries and explorations that have allowed me to continue to grow and add to my life experiences. Oh and always thankful for amazing food shared with new and old friends and loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!”
“I am first and foremost always thankful for the health and happiness of my friends and family. It’s easy to forget to take this into account on a daily basis, and I’ve always appreciated Thanksgiving as a day to reflect and reground myself with gratitude. This Thanksgiving, I’m also thankful for surviving an incredible first year in Paris!”
