September/October 2026 Preview

Set among the rolling hills of Normandy, the autumn gardens of the Château de Boutemont are a stunning example of a restoration that pays homage to classical French design. In the Pays de la Loire, we explore a Japanese-inspired landscape that is particularly atmospheric this time of year. With this year’s wine harvest in full swing, we take you to Burgundy to visit the iconic biodynamic winemaker Château de Pommard, while our colleague shares what it’s like to take part in the annual vendanges (harvest). We also dedicate our Discovery Guide to this region, focusing on the charming village of Beaune. While the orchards are heavy with fruit, we’re inspired to make confiture, and have some creative recipes for jams to make and share. In Paris, we take a tour of a stunning family villa in the 16th arrondissement, and in the spirit of Toussaint (All Saint’s Day) we take a stroll through Père Lachaise cemetery, one of the city’s most evocative places.
